The AMM Congress has become an effective platform for industry professionals to meet, reach agreements, and sign contracts. The participation of international specialists facilitates the exchange of experience, best practices, and the development of new solutions.

“Kazakhstan’s economy, like that of the rest of the world, is currently experiencing the consequences of the pandemic. However, despite the difficulties, our country’s economic development is showing positive momentum. However, it should be noted that the situation remains challenging. We must continue to diversify the economy, expand the range of goods produced, meet the needs of the domestic market, and expand our export reach,” said Adilbek Sarsembayev, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, opening the event.

“This will allow us to maintain the competitiveness of Kazakhstan’s metallurgical products in the face of global economic instability,” he added.

Over the course of two days, government officials, international industry experts, CEOs of major companies, and top managers of service companies will discuss the mining and metallurgy industry and its development prospects.

This forum was first held in 2010 with the support and direct participation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Today, the AMM Congress is a significant international platform for discussing and addressing critical issues in the mining and metals industry.

The mining and metallurgical complex is one of the driving forces of Kazakhstan’s economy, accounting for approximately 8.2% of the country’s GDP, approximately 24% of national exports, and where 230,000 of our compatriots work tirelessly.

The main theme of the 2021 congress was “Growth Vectors for the Global Mining Industry During the Pandemic.” The congress program includes sessions on new technologies and digital solutions, geological exploration, and master classes on developing new competencies in Industry 4.0.

The congress will also feature forums on the gold and coal industries, as well as master classes on GR, PR, and HR.

The future of Kazakhstan’s mining and metals industry lies in investments in geological exploration, the development of high-quality human resources, and the implementation of new technologies. The event’s high-quality program and discussion format allow for a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s challenges and the identification of solutions.
